BETHEL, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police say they imagine a truck driver misplaced his brakes earlier than a crash that claimed his life within the city of Bethel.
Troopers say it appeared that 32-year-old Tyler Webster, of Barnard, was attempting to keep away from visitors after dropping his brakes on a downhill part of street Friday afternoon.
Troopers say the logging truck, unable to decelerate, tried to show, then brushed towards a parked automotive, and hit a tree because it overturned.
Webster died at Gifford Medical Center. No one else was harm. Troopers say an investigation into the crash is continuous.
