State reports first death from vaping-related lung injury

BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts well being officers are reporting the state’s first dying from a vaping-related lung damage.

The state Department of Health stated Monday it reported the dying of a girl in her 60s from Hampshire County to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The division didn’t establish the girl however stated she’s amongst 121 suspected instances of vaping-related lung accidents reported to the state since final month.

The company says 9 of the instances have been confirmed as vaping-associated lung accidents and ten of them are possible instances. At least 39 of the instances have been dominated out.

Gov. Charlie Baker declared a public well being emergency and imposed four-month statewide ban on gross sales of vaping merchandise on Sept. 24.
