Cambridge police officer injured in leg after their gun ‘accidentally discharged’ outside station

A Cambridge police officer suffered a gunshot wound to their leg on Thursday when their gun “accidentally discharged,” in keeping with police. 

Police stated the capturing occurred round 12:18 p.m. outdoors the division’s station at 125 sixth St.

“They are currently being treated at this time for a leg injury,” police stated. 

Police spokesman Jeremy Warnick informed Boston.com the officer was exiting their private car on Rodgers Street, outdoors the station, when the firearm discharged one shot. The officer is in good situation at a hospital, he stated. 

An inner investigation is being performed,” Warnick stated.
