ARLINGTON, Mass. (AP) — Police in a Boston suburb are investigating the circumstances round a suspicious fireplace at a rabbi’s house and are searching for somebody noticed on a neighbor’s surveillance video.
According to a press release Wednesday, firefighters and police responded to the Arlington house at about 11 p.m. Saturday after the house owner referred to as to say the hearth alarms went off and he smelled smoke.
Firefighters discovered a small fireplace on the outside wooden shingles and shortly extinguished it. Damage was minor and nobody was damage.
Rabbi Avi Burkiet tells WFXT-TV the hearth was “unsettling,” however he hasn’t obtained any threats and he doesn’t wish to bounce to conclusions.
Authorities launched video from a neighbor’s house that seems to indicate somebody strolling away from the rabbi’s house on the approximate time of the hearth.
