Donald Trump Jr. accused Chris Cuomo and CNN of hypocrisy over an incident wherein the host was caught on video confronting a heckler who referred to as him “Fredo,” saying it was an anti-Italian slur equal to the N-word for black individuals.

An announcement from a CNN spokesperson stated: “Chris Cuomo defended himself when he was verbally attacked with the use of an ethnic slur in an orchestrated setup. We completely support him.”

Responding to the CNN assertion with the video clip, Trump Jr. tweeted: “Does CNN’s head of PR still think ‘Fredo’ is an ethnic slur after watching this? Because if it’s the N word for Italians like @ChrisCuomo says, I don’t understand why Chris seems so at ease with someone saying it here. An excuse just as fake as his news. #FredoCuomo.”

The president’s eldest son posted to Twitter a clip of a section from Cuomo’s present aired in January wherein his visitor Ana Navarro, a Republican strategist, referred to Trump Jr. as Fredo, a reference to a personality in The Godfather who’s a weak and incompetent Corleone brother.

The video emerged via a YouTube channel referred to as THAT’S THE POINT with Brandon, which acknowledged {that a} fan despatched the clip in, after which went viral throughout social media.

“Any of you Italian? It’s a fucking insult to your individuals. It’s an insult to your fucking individuals. It’s just like the N-word for us. Is {that a} cool fucking factor?”

During the profanity-laden change, the person tells Cuomo he doesn’t have an issue.

“You’re going to have a fucking downside. I’ll fucking damage your shit. I’ll fucking throw you down these stairs like a fucking punk,” Cuomo says.

“Take a swing. No, no, come on, boy. Come on, boy. You need to name me shit, name me shit then. I’m proper fucking right here. I’ll fucking wreck your shit. I’ll fucking wreck your shit. You did not know what you have been doing whenever you referred to as me Fredo? You know now!”
